Mete is a trilingual sales expert (Japanese, English, Turkish) with a rich history of over a decade in various business domains in Japan, a testament to the power of cultural acumen and professional versatility.
Born and raised in Turkiye, Mete’s journey into the world of international trade commenced at Boğaziçi University, where he graduated from the International Trade Department with honors in 2011. Between 2009 to 2010, he studied in Kansai Gaidai University(Osaka)/Asian Studies department as an exchange student. His passion for global interactions and diverse cultures fueled his decision to embark on a career in Japan immediately after graduation, laying the foundation for a remarkable career.
Mete’s journey began with a stint in the Japanese Government at the Wakayama Prefectural Government, where he served as a Coordinator for International Relations from August 2011 to August 2012. This early experience in the public sector allowed him to cultivate diplomatic skills and deepen his understanding of cultural nuances.
From 2012 to 2014, Mete made a mark in the private sector as an International Salesman for the Kimura Group, a prestigious iron casting company in Japan with a rich history spanning almost a century. In this role, he took charge of markets in Europe, the USA, and India.
From 2014 to 2021, Mete held the prestigious position of Chief Export Sales Manager at Yuko & Co., Ltd., a Japanese international trading company based in Osaka with over 50 years of history. He managed relationships with more than 100 Japanese manufacturers and oversaw markets in Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Korea,Turkiye and the Middle East.
Returning to Turkey in 2022, Mete joined Multi Measuring Instruments, a Japanese manufacturer specializing in electrical measuring instruments, as the Europe&Middle East Area Sales Manager. He navigated markets in Europe, the Middle East, Turkiye, and Africa, demonstrating his adaptability to remote work supported with international/domestic business trips.
In 2023, Mete embarked on a new venture by founding Osaka Global Consulting Ltd. His consultancy aims to facilitate connections between international companies and the markets of Japan and Turkiye, drawing on his extensive experience and cultural understanding.
During his time in Japan, Mete undertook the significant step of naturalizing as a Japanese citizen, further deepening his connection to the country that became a second home.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mete is an accomplished vocalist and guitarist, performing for over two decades with various musical groups.
